FAQ – Frequently asked questions

  • Q: How many rooms can we work on in one day? 
    A: We can use a Design Day for a project of any size! Whether you’re remodeling a kitchen, a bath, a whole house, or working on a new build, we will work with you to make the most of your day and  guide you through your selections so you can move forward with confidence.
  • Q: Will we complete my entire project in one Design Day session?
    A. We will guide you through as many selections as possible during our Design Day session. We will consider the complexity of your project, the number of rooms, your aesthetic preferences and the ability of all decision-makers to reach agreement when we set our agenda.
  • Q: Can I book a full week at once?
    A: Of course! Let’s book a call to discuss your unique needs. Many clients have booked multiple Design Day intensives to achieve a full-house design quickly and conveniently. Because we offer full-day and half-day service, and can customize our priorities and objectives to maximize each session, we can always book multiple days to fast-track the selections process when it’s most convenient for you!

  • Q: Is this in-person only, or is a virtual VIP Day service available? 
    A: We offer both in-person VIP days – for showroom visits and material selections – and virtual VIP days for floor plans and layouts.
  • Q: Do I need to be present for the full session? 
    A: For in-person Design Days, we require all decision makers for the space to be present for the full session so that we can make decisions quickly in real time. However, for virtual VIP Design Days, we keep a zoom meeting open for the full session, and you’re able to come and go as needed between conversations.
  • Q: What is the difference between VIP Days and typcial design work? 
    A: With a typical design project, we work through our proven design process from pre-design planning, to conceptual design, to design development, and through the project’s implementation. Communication occurs through weekly updates where we review progress and feedback together.
    Our VIP Design Days allow you the convenience of fast-tracking the process through a collaborative, design-intensive session.


Crystal Hackl is the owner and principal designer of Inspired Haven Design, a full-service kitchen, bath and interior design firm with a focus on residential remodeling. Crystal focuses on creating spaces that are as comfortable and family-friendly as they are beautiful and functional. In addition to transforming homes, she enjoys trendspotting and blogging about all things design.

As a working mom and small business owner, Crystal is passionate about reimagining and transforming spaces that support busy executives and their families in every part of their lives. With a discerning eye and attention to detail, she takes her vision for each space from concept to reality with ease. 

Crystal has served as an instructor in the eDesign Association and is a member of the inaugural class of the the NKBA’s W2W women’s leadership conference. She  is a Certified Kitchen & Bath Designer (CKBD), holds several specialty credentials from the NKBA, and is a Killam Colour Academy Certified True Colour Expert.
